Signs 300,000th Subscriber |

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - October 30, 2000 - Sony Online Entertainment announced
today that its top-selling online PC title "EverQuest(r)" has expanded to reach
an active subscriber base of more than 300,000 players. Since the game's launch in
February 1999, "EverQuest" has consistently grown in both sales and
subscriptions, breaking all records previously set by an online multiplayer game.
The second EverQuest expansion pack, "EverQuest(r): The Scars of Velious(tm)" is
scheduled to be available at retail in December 2000. The expansion pack will
provide the opportunity for the 300,000 current EverQuest gamers to explore an all-new
frozen continent, 16 new adventure zones, numerous new creatures,
additional spells and weapons and 12 all-new player character armor sets for each race.
