Test For The Highly-Anticipated Action Title
Heading For The Hands Of Hardcore Gamers
Santa Monica, CA -- April 12, 2001 - Activision, Inc. and Raven Software are giving
gamers a chance to test their grit with the announcement of the Soldier Of Fortune
II: Double Helix multiplayer compatibility test. The test, which will initially be
available exclusively from GameSpy's
FilePlanet on April 18, 2002, gives gamers a chance to compete in one map across four
different game modes including deathmatch, team deathmatch, elimination and infiltration.
Gamers who choose to participate in the test will also have access to 20 skins and all the
weapons available in the multiplayer portion of the full game. Players are
encouraged to provide feedback to the team on gameplay and compatibility. The multiplayer
test is not the official demo for the game and does not contain the single player portion
of Soldier Of Fortune II: Double Helix. The title has been rated
"M" ("Mature" - Violence and blood - content suitable for persons ages
17 and older) by the ESRB.
Slated for release this May on the PC, Soldier Of Fortune II: Double Helix
portrays the gritty world a modern day gun-for-hire tasked with stopping a conspiracy bent
on releasing a deadly new plague upon mankind. Under contract to the top-secret
organization known only as the shop, players will travel from the snow swept streets of
Prague to the jungles of Columbia to secret subterranean terrorist strongholds as they
undertake a deadly hair-raising mission to foil the plot and eliminate the threat for
good.
