Majesco Announces Iridion 3-D
for Game Boy Advance
January 11, 2001

EDISON, NJ, January 11, 2001 - Continuing the expansion of its rapidly growing publishing business, Majesco, Inc., today announced plans to release its fast-paced 3-D action game, Iridion 3-D, for Game Boy Advance. Iridion 3-D is currently being developed by Pipe Dream Interactive, the in-house development studio for Majesco, Inc, and is scheduled to ship this summer, with the launch of Nintendo's new handheld game system.

"By pushing the graphics hardware of the Game Boy Advance to its technical limits, Iridion 3-D provides a truly realistic 3-D gaming experience," said Dan Kitchen, Vice President / Handheld Development for Majesco. "Players will be amazed that such smooth environments and intense gameplay can now be achieved on a portable system."

In Iridion 3-D, gamers assume the role of an interstellar prospector returning to earth after the exploration of the distant Orion System. Upon return, it is revealed that the Earth has been invaded by the Iridion Empire, a long-time threat to mankind. Through their journey between Earth and the Iridion Star System, players experience a variety of unique environments including a disposal tunnel of an intergalactic space station and combat over the Pacific Ocean. Each mission encounters an array of vicious mega-robots, bio-mechanic worms, and brigades of Iridion Starfighter combat craft.

Features include:

  • Smooth and realistic 3-D Environments and animations
  • Seven huge gameplay levels, each with a unique graphical design
  • Arsenal of weaponry including bonus weapons with unique characteristics
  • Enormous BOSS enemies in special 360* view
  • Exciting soundtrack utilizing GAX sound engine
  • Frame-rate at a smooth 60 frames per second

In addition to Iridion 3-D, Majesco has announced plans to release an impressive 10 titles for the Game Boy Advance system in 2001. These include Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, Fortres, and Earthworm Jim.
