Click to read. The Nintendo DS version of Tony Hawk\'s American Wasteland is different enough to warrant a whole new title, so it is called Tony Hawk\'s American Sk8land. With a decidedly less edgy name, and the lack of a massive, unbroken LA to explore, it might seem like the DS is getting the short end of the stylus, so to speak. But it looks like American Sk8land might pack enough extra features to make up for the difference.

WiFi multiplayer is probably the most highly anticipated aspect of American Sk8land. All of the versions of the Hawk series plan to expand their online capabilities in 2005. The addition of a record your own voice feature is another step towards modelling the perfect skater based on yourself (or whomever else you\'d like to repeatedly crash into walls and trees).

And, of course, the most noticeable difference is the cell-shading. It might not be noticeable on those thumbnails, but click for the larger image and it\'s unmistakable. How will the Birdman fare in a cartoonier environment? We can\'t wait to find out. Keep an eye out for American Sk8land to release in November for Nintendo DS.
