Click to read.Sony Online Entertainment announced today that they would offer the new Sony Station Access program. For a single monthly subscription of $21.99 gamers can access several popular MMOs including Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies, The Matrix Online and Planetside. In all, over 10 titles and five active online worlds are included in the Station Access membership, and some titles, such as Everquest II, have been upgraded to allow more character slots. The Station Access Collection will be sold at retail for $39.99 and will offer five games for PC and a free 30-day trial of the Station Access subscription.

Sony is hoping to attract new gamers with the unified subscription package. Mike Lustenberger, vice president, marketing, Sony Online Entertainment, said, \"Online gaming has become a huge part of PC gamers\' lives over the last few years and we felt that now would be the perfect time to introduce new players to our diverse line-up of online games.\"

Sony is one of the few major companies to invest heavily in science-fiction oriented MMO titles, which remain somewhat difficult to find in a genre dominated by wizards and warriors.

The Station Access Collection offers five games and includes a trial subscription to Station Access. The games included on the PC-only DVD-ROM are: EverQuest Evolution, EverQuest II, The Matrix Online and PlanetSide Aftershock, as well as Star Wars Galaxies, developed in conjunction with LucasArts.

The Station Access Collection will hit game stores on March 14, 2006.
