Our friends over at Joystiq.com made an interesting observation the other day, and we here at GamesFirst are all for interesting observations.
Apparantly, buying an original Xbox has become more expensive since the introduction of the Xbox 360 in November of 2005.
Before the release of the Xbox 360, an original Xbox could be picked up as a basic system without any extra games of do-dads for about $150. Since Microsoft introduced their new system, the ability to buy the Xbox outside of a bundle has disappeared.
Now, you'll be hard pressed to find a non-bundled system pretty much anywhere outside of the second-hand sites like eBay and Half.com.
The problem is that the most common bundle is the Xbox and Fortza Motorsport, a game that costs $19.95 when purchased seperately. You could buy an Xbox for $150 by itself. Bundled with Fortza Motorsport, the Xbox sells for around $180.
