Consumers To Compete Against Band Members Promoting First Ever Online Console Gaming Network

SAN FRANCISCO (October 16, 2000) - Catch SegaNet* (www.sega.net), the first high-speed online console gaming network and ISP, live in concert with MTV Video Music Award winner Limp Bizkit. As an extension of Sega’s long standing sponsorship of Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst, Sega.com(tm), an independent online interactive entertainment company for gamers, today announced that SegaNet is a sponsor of Limp Bizkit’s two month long tour which includes a stint on the “Anger Management” tour. In addition to the exciting alternative musical offerings, the tour will showcase the highly-anticipated online console gaming network via the Sega Dreamcast(tm), giving concert attendees hands-on experience with the first ever video games over the Internet.

Fred Durst, lead singer of Limp Bizkit, is a huge online console gaming fan. “If you get your ass kicked, it’s probably me on the other end of the line,” said Fred Durst, SegaNet member.

The tour will hit major venues in approximately 45 U.S. cities from October 19th through late December. With Limp Bizkit’s new album “Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog-Flavored Water” slated to release on October 17th as a follow-up to its No. 1 chart topper “Significant Other” – The “Anger Management” tour is expected to attract more than 500,000 attendees.

Rumble With A Rockstar

In each tour location, concert-goers will have a chance to “Rumble with a Rockstar” - competing against one of the musicians each night on Sega Dreamcast. Playing “Ultimate Fighting Championship(tm)” by Crave Entertainment Inc., their game will be projected on the giant stage screen in front of thousands of screaming fans. Local radio stations in each city will promote the event and announce the winner for that night’s concert. Each winner will also receive a complimentary one-year membership on SegaNet and a Dreamcast signed by the band. In addition, runners up will receive tickets to attend the Limp Bizkit concert that night. “Limp Bizkit fans are parallel with our core audience of online gamers,” said Julia Miller, vice president of marketing, Sega.com. “The tour is a key component in our crusade to ensure SegaNet is everywhere our target customer is.”

Sega’s Mobile Assault Tour

Limp Bizkit and Sega Dreamcast will assault fans senses with Sega’s Mobile Assault Tour (MAT) trucks, which will be on-site at every concert. The MAT gives gamers the chance to play the best games on the only console with SegaNet allowing gamers to experience the best in online console gaming.

Featured games include “Sega Sports� NFL 2K1(tm),” “Sega Sports World� Series Baseball 2K1(tm)”, “Space Channel 5(tm)”, and “Metropolis Street Racer(tm)”.
