2K Boston and 2K Australia created an awesome art-deco world at the ocean's floor, but they're not done. The critically acclaimed and successful Bioshock is back for more next week. As reported by Shacknews
will be getting its first downloadable content sometime next week (that's the 2nd through the 7th) to get fans to revisit the world of Rapture.
game: Kane and Lynch
news | 11/30/07 | Chris Martin
If this is true, Gamespot will be allegedly losing one of it's finest reviewers
over a critically mediocre game
, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men.
Primotech stated yesterday that Jeff Gerstmann, 10 year veteran on Gamespot.com, has been fired.
According to a fellow Gamespot contributor and close friend of Gerstmann who wished to remain anonymous, the editor was fired Wednesday morning because of his negative review of the game, which he awarded a 6.0. Comparably speaking, Metacritic lists Kane and Lynch as currently having a 68% average from critics.
Although Primotech admits there might be other reasons for Gerstmann's leave, but as of now there have been no announcements by Gerstmann.

news | 10/27/07 | Chris Martin

And actually, it's the best download for Forza 2 yet. Because of the unique design of the Twin Rings we get not one, but four different tracks. Details inside. The pack is 400 Microsoft Points.
game: Project Gotham Racing 4
review | 10/24/07 | Chris Martin
Fans of racing games take note: Project Gotham Racing 4 is a dream come true--lots of exotic cars, tons of tracks, weather effects, Bulldog Mode, and a rock-solid career mode to boot. Oh yeah, and motorcycles. PGR4 might be working a gamer niche that is already supersaturated by the likes of Forza, PGR3, and Burnout. But it still manages, despite it's competition, to be a furiously enjoyable racer with more variety than it perhaps knows what to do with.
game: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
news | 10/10/07 | Chris Martin
Several poorly doctored videos
have been circulating the interweb regarding the blue blur's inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. But today, according to Gemaga's Live Blog
, and then re-reported by 1UP, Nintendo has rolled a new trailer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl with Sonic the Hedgehog "jumping, spinning, and even turning into Super Sonic." I think Nintendo just sold another ten million Wii...

The second downloadable pack for Forza Motorsport 2 has jsut been released, for 400 Microsoft Points. This pack is substantially meatier than the last one, including various cars from seven different manufacturers. A few Civics, two Lambos, and even a Saturn come our way this week. But for all you Le Mans fans, the gorgeous 2006 Audi R10 (#8 Audi Sport Team Joest) Prototype will be enough to entice you.

While we here in Seattle get to watch the Mariners crumble in what was a pretty decent year, we also get front page Microsoft news, regularly. Today, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported
that the European Court of First Instance, in a move upholding key elements of the March 2004
European Commission Decision, declared the American company responsible for misusing it's Windows monopoly. Specifically, the company packages Windows Media Player with their Windows software, a la
trojan horse, allowing market dominance of the software. Microsoft to EU court: "the decision on the Media Player opens a dangerous precedent for other companies and sectors. Airbus should start worrying about adding new features to their planes."

This article came by way of Shacknews
, but originated from Pro-G
who reported (citing some insider info) that Sony is likely to announce at TGS a new Dual Shock (we are only on #2, at this point) in an effort to cover their bloodied SIXAXIS tracks right into your living room. The rumored "update" looks an attempt to curb the potty mouths of internet users and Sony bashers everywhere, and comes hot off negotiations with rumble manufacturers (and patent holders) Immersion
. And it's about damn time, since the PlayStation pioneered rumble anyway. Now that rumble is being reconsidered in the PS3, is it enough? Will it be enough? We give our two cents.
game: Sega Rally Revo
news | 09/17/07 | Chris Martin
So, in case you missed it
, I'm pretty stoked about SEGA Rally Revo for Xbox 360. Some early reviews are in: IGN UK gave it 8.8/10
and EuroGamer gave it a 9/10
. Knowing this makes me ache for it more. If you're thinking about picking up SEGA Rally Revo, it's officially out today (09/17/07) in the UK--those in the US will have to wait until October 9th. And if you just want to check it out first, the Demo has just hit Xbox Live. At over half a gig, it's one of the smaller demos out there, but we'll let the gameplay speak for itself.
game: Sega Rally Revo
preview | 09/10/07 | Chris Martin
This year we got to play tons of games at PAX 07, and of them, SEGA Rally Revo, the next iteration of the SEGA Rally franchise, was on display. The series has seen quite a few versions on the now defunct N-Gage and Dreamcast, as well as one on PlayStation 2, PC, and wireless. Simply, the series has "been around the track" if you know what I mean. Now, we bring you our impressions of SEGA's next evolution of the franchise on Xbox 360 and PS3: SEGA Rally Revo. All this and screenshots of the just-announced Super Cars inside!
game: Ghost Squad

Once the reveared developers of Shenmue, Virtua Fighter, Afterburner, Space Harrier (the list goes on) are hard at work bringing their "light gun shooter" Ghost Squad to the Nintendo Wii. Which means it's a "Wii gun shooter" or a "light Wii shooter" or a "Wiimote shooter." Whatever you call it, it's very much in Wii vein with 4-player co-op. Sure, the game has been out in arcades since 2004, but better late than never, I always say.

For a game to share a name with the hometown of a certain caped crusader and to become one of Microsoft's flagship series is kind of mindboggling. Project Gotham Racing 4 has become the place to go for mostly arcade, semi-simulation racing. It's a game about looking good while winning, and in the fourth iteration, Bizarre has added some features to make you look even better. This game is looking gorgeous, and we can't wait for it to get here. In the meanwhile, here are some pics from the new "Photo Mode" and some very sexy pics at that.

We went in expecting Magic the Gathering Online Version 3, but what we got was much, much bigger than we anticipated. PAX 07 was great for a number of reasons - concerts, contests, Family Feud - but Wizards of the Coast's ace in the hole Gleemax took us aback, slapped us around, and handed to us the most complete vision of an online gaming community we've ever seen. Complete with indie game developer support, event hosting, and cross-game currency and trading. Don't know about Gleemax? You should, and here's why...

Tired of news about BioShock? We hear you. While our review is still baking in the oven, getting crispy on the edges, we came across a neat little factoid for all you fans of the old jest: "My game is better, ha, ha!" For it appears that BioShock not only has become critically received as one of the best games of all time, not only this year. According to www.Gamerankings.com
, Bioshock has supplanted Resident Evil 4
in the #4
highest ranked game of all time, just below The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64
), Soul Calibur (DC), and Metroid Prime (GC).
game: Dead Rising 2
editorial | 08/23/07 | Chris Martin
It's officially unofficial
according to Capcom reps. But you know we'll probably see a Dead Rising sequel some time in the near future. Dead Rising
sold over a million copies worldwide and became one of the staple buys for adopters of the Xbox 360. It was an excellent survival horror game with some great humor. The sandbox environment, multiple endings, and various side quests gave it longevity. Basically, we know it's coming on one platform or another. Not if
it gets announced, here are the top 20 features we would like to see in the sequel.
