Click to read.BioShock will end up in the picturebooks. Okay, even the ones without pictures. But not the ones without words because, well...

Yesterday, the previously mentioned downloadable content for BioShock was released. When you boot the Xbox 360 game up (the patch is also available for PC), you'll get prompted for an update (this fixes the "widescreen issue"). Then you'll have to go into the "Game Store in the Xbox Live tab, or just go to downloadable content in game. The patch is called "Ryan Industries Plasmids and Gene Tonics" and is free for all Silver and Gold members.

New to the game: when you boot up a new game, you'll be instantly treated to a journal entry telling you that there are new plasmids available. You'll also notice that in the options menu, two new options have been added. "Horizontal FOV Lock" which only does anything if you have a widescreen TV--your horizonal field of view is "unlocked" if on, which supposedly widens the screen "cropping" effect.

The other new option is the ability to turn off vita-chambers.

Of course, you're here for the new plasmids...

A new achievement has also been added: "Brass Balls"--it's listed as "Secret" but we know better--which is unlocked for playing through the game on Hard without dying (turning Vita-Chambers off here is the way to go).
