Monica, CA January 6, 2001 Activision, Inc. today announced that an
enhanced version of its best-selling video game Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2Ô will be the companys first action-sports title to ship
for the Xbox video game console. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2x for Xbox is
slated to ship among the first wave of launch titles in fall 2001, and is one of six games
that Activision currently has in various stages of planning and development for the new
console platform.
"Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2x will set the
standard for sports gaming on the Xbox with its stunning graphics, smooth animations and
refined gameplay. The online capabilities that we are including in the product will
introduce the social aspects of skateboarding to the brand for the first time," said
Ron Doornink, President and COO, Activision, Inc. "We have been working closely with
Microsoft to develop a broad portfolio of games for the Xbox that take full advantage of
the platforms sophisticated graphics, audio and multiplayer features."
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2x for Xbox is being designed
to take full advantage of the platforms technical capabilities, as well as
continuing the standard of quality for which the brand is known. The game will feature the
franchises signature gameplay and intuitive controls, in addition to more populated
environments, additional levels, realistic special effects and smoother lifelike
animations. The inclusion of online, multiplayer gameplay and tournament hosting will
further bring the skateboarding experience to life.

as Tony Hawk Hawks Pro Skater 2 coming to the Xbox and being specifically

Pro Skater 2 has been a best-selling game since the title launched in September
2000. The game rocketed to the #1 spot after just five days in distribution and has
remained a top-selling video game.
