EDISON, NJ, December 11, 2000 - Unveiling its inaugural title for the
PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system, Pipe Dream Interactive, an internal
development studio of Majesco, Inc., has secured the exclusive PlayStation 2 rights to
Activison's award-winning PC game, Soldier of Fortune.
"We're thrilled to have obtained the rights to Soldier
of Fortune, one of the premier action gaming franchises, for our first PS2 offering,
" said David Elmekies, Director of Game Development for Pipe Dream Interactive.
"Our goal is to meld all of the terrific attributes of the PC version with the tools
and features that console gamers are looking for, such a
four-person multi-player."
In Soldier of Fortune, players assume the role of real-life
mercenary John Mullins, who is hired to track down and eradicate a fanatical
terrorist group. With both solo and multiplayer missions across five continents,
players will learn the credo by which all mercenary's live: hunt or be hunted.
"We're excited to work with Majesco on a great property
like Soldier of Fortune, and are confident that their talented development teams will
deliver an incredible gaming experience with the license," added Dave Anderson,
Senior Manager of Business Development for Activision. "
Soldier of Fortune is scheduled for release in the fourth
quarter of next year and has not yet received an ESRB rating.
