E3 2002 Product Lineup

Black Isle Studios set to unveil new role-playing game

Irvine, Calif., April 30, 2002 - Interplay Entertainment Corp. announced today its exciting lineup of highly anticipated game titles to be shown at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) taking place May 22 - 24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Interplay will be showing demonstrations of Hunter: The Reckoning, Run Like Hell, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Galleon. Black Isle Studios, the renown, role-playing game (RPG) division of Interplay, will be showing (by appointment only) Icewind Dale II, and an exciting, new RPG title to be announced in the coming weeks.

Hunter: The Reckoning, an exclusive title for the Xbox video game system by Microsoft, is a thrilling action-adventure game based on the mysterious characters and spine-tingling fiction found in the popular role-playing game Hunter: The Reckoning and the mystifying World of Darknessä universe in which it is based. Developed by High Voltage Software, Inc. for Digital Mayhem using the AtlasTech Game Engine licensed technology, Hunter is based on the popular license from White Wolf Publishing, Inc. Hunter: The Reckoning has just been approved for manufacturing and is scheduled to ship the week of May 20.

Icewind Dale II for the PC, in development internally at Black Isle Studios, offers a classic dungeon crawl experience, using the new Third Edition Dungeons & Dragons license from Wizards of the Coast. Based in part on the series of books by New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore, Icewind Dale II will amaze players with new monsters, spells, and areas to explore within the popular FORGOTTEN REALMS campaign setting.

Run Like Hell (RLH) brings a whole new breed of action-terror game to the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. RLH is a groundbreaking, hair-raising experience that takes players to an ordinary mining space station, the Forsetti, which soon becomes anything but ordinary after a terrifying species of aliens invade the outpost. Your goal is to eliminate as many of the nasty creatures as you can, grab your loved ones and get the hell off the station! The game features incredible graphics, fast-paced console action plus the voice talents of Lance Henriksen, Kate Mulgrew and Michael Ironside.

From the creator and lead designer and lead designer of Lara Croft and the original Tomb Raider comes a new breed of hero in Galleon: Islands of Mystery, an exciting action-adventure game developed for release on the Xbox video game system. Set across six unique islands, this epic adventure takes Rhama Sabrier, the dashing captain of the Endeavor, from the bustling port of Akbah to islands populated with giant monsters, evil slave lords and, of course, damsels in distress in a story of intrigue, suspense, romance, obsession and revenge.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for the Xbox features a distinctive blend of action and adventure set in the most popular Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting: The FORGOTTEN REALMS franchise owned by Wizards of the Coast Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro Inc., and licensed to Infogrames Interactive, Inc. Faithful adaptation of the Third Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules set, customizable player characters and character development allow for an engrossing gameplay experience new to Xbox gamers.
