Star Wars:
Knights of the Old Republic Review (Xbox) |
August 28, 2003 |
BioWare's
latest foray into the console market has been a resounding success.
There's a good reasons why Star
Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been burning up the sales
charts this summer: It freaking rules. Play as a light side or dark side
jedi, save wookies, travel to exotic worlds and kill maneating beasts.
How much better does it get?

Midnight
Club 2 Review (PC) |
August 26, 2003 |
Rockstar
has busted it out on all platforms, and
Midnight Club 2
is satisfying gamers all over the world now. After stellar console
releases, the PC version of the game is just as good, if not even
prettier on high end systems. Anyone who enjoys racing needs to check
this out. Click

Indiana
Jones and the Emperor's Tomb Review (PS2) |
Good
old Indy is back at it, this time on the PS2.
Indiana Jones and
the Emperor's Tomb is a great action title for fans of the Indiana
Jones mythology, but not necessarily as great for fans of innovative,
invigorating action games. Too bad.

Simpsons
Road Rage Review (GBA) |
The
Simpsons' famous Crazy Taxi ripoff comes to the GBA, but
Simpsons Road Rage
is not as good as we hoped for. Sure, the action is all there, but
without the witty dialogue and sweet graphics, this one loses some of
its appeal. Read the
whole review here. |
Drome
Racers Review (GBA) |
What
can we say about
Drome Racers? It's a racing game. And it's apparently set in a bleak
world of flatly rendered polygons -- spooky! This racer is technically
not bad, but it lacks the personality to make it one of our faves.

Buffy the
Vampire Slayer: Wrath of the Darkhul King Review (GBA) |
Our
favorite teeny-bopper vampire hunter is back for more in handheld form.
Unfortunately,
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Wrath of the Darkhul King won't erase your
bad memories of the original Buffy GBC title. The graphics are better,
but this title is still thoroughly at-par.

MS Flight
Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight Review (PC) |
August 12, 2003 |
Our
man Thomas, the only reviewer we have whose airstrip is actually
featured in Microsoft's Flight Sim series, takes
MS Flight Simulator 2004:
A Century of Flight out for a spin. The verdict: We don't want to
spill the beans, but this one should satiate all those flight sim
fanatics looking for a little something new.

Evil
Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick Review (PS2, Xbox) |
The
last Evil Dead game was truly horrific, although not in the ways it
should have been. Fortunately,
Evil Dead: A Fistful
of Boomstick does a much better job, but it's still far from
perfect. When will Deadites and non-Deadites get a game that is equally
enjoyable, no matter how much you love Bruce Campbell and his cute
little dimples? Click

Jet Grind
Radio Review (GBA) |
Take
the DC version of Jet Grind Radio, shrink it down, clip the soundtrack a
bit, and snip the graf editor, and you've got yourself Jet
Grind Radio for the GBA. It's impressive how well the game holds
together in the handheld format.

Planetside Review (PC) |
Sony
Online Entertainment looks to build a great sci-fi MMORPG with
Planetside. This
epic game features tactical squad-based action, loads of vehicles,
amazingly cool weapons and items, and one of the best soundtracks we've
heard. But that's not all.

RTX Red
Rock Review (PS2) |
LucasArts
scores once again in the story and cinema department with
RTX Red Rock.
This satire of sci-fi space action games is definitely entertaining, and
RTX features various gadgetry, robots, and cool multiple vision modes to
make your sci-fi hero dreams come true.
