Gerstmann Allegedly Fired Over Kane and Lynch Review
game: Kane and Lynch
news | 11/30/07 | Chris Martin
If this is true, Gamespot will be allegedly losing one of it\'s finest reviewers over a 934403.asp?q=kane%20%20lynch\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">critically mediocre game, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men.

Primotech stated yesterday that Jeff Gerstmann, 10 year veteran on Gamespot.com, has been fired.
According to a fellow Gamespot contributor and close friend of Gerstmann who wished to remain anonymous, the editor was fired Wednesday morning because of his negative review of the game, which he awarded a 6.0. Comparably speaking, Metacritic lists Kane and Lynch as currently having a 68% average from critics.

Although Primotech admits there might be other reasons for Gerstmann\'s leave, but as of now there have been no announcements by Gerstmann.

Will the 'Station Rumble Soon?
editorial | 09/17/07 | Chris Martin
This article came by way of 978\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">Shacknews, but originated from 9-2007-6461.html\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">Pro-G who reported (citing some insider info) that Sony is likely to announce at TGS a new Dual Shock (we are only on #2, at this point) in an effort to cover their bloodied SIXAXIS tracks right into your living room. The rumored \"update\" looks an attempt to curb the potty mouths of internet users and Sony bashers everywhere, and comes hot off negotiations with rumble manufacturers (and patent holders) Immersion. And it\'s about damn time, since the PlayStation pioneered rumble anyway. Now that rumble is being reconsidered in the PS3, is it enough? Will it be enough? We give our two cents.

Sexy Project Gotham 4 Photo Mode Screens
game: Project Gotham Racing 4
gallery | 09/07/07 | Chris Martin
For a game to share a name with the hometown of a certain caped crusader and to become one of Microsoft\'s flagship series is kind of mindboggling. Project Gotham Racing 4 has become the place to go for mostly arcade, semi-simulation racing. It\'s a game about looking good while winning, and in the fourth iteration, Bizarre has added some features to make you look even better. This game is looking gorgeous, and we can\'t wait for it to get here. In the meanwhile, here are some pics from the new \"Photo Mode\" and some very sexy pics at that.

It was an excellent survival horror game with some great humor. The sandbox environment, multiple endings, and various side quests gave it longevity. Basically, we know it\'s coming on one platform or another. Not if but when it gets announced, here are the top 20 features we would like to see in the sequel.

news | 08/07/07 | Chris Martin
Microsoft has made it official today that the Xbox 360 Premium will see a price drop of $50. Although for many this will seem old hat (as Microsoft is, apparently, no keeper of secrets), but it\'s nice to know anyway. The Core system will have a $20 price drop and the Elite will have a $30 price drop.

Microsoft also announced the pricing of their Halo 3 Special Edition (which features a sweet system: see article for pics) which will go for $399.99, the Premiums original price.

Forza 2 Gets 4 New Cars in First Downloadable Pack
game: Forza Motorsport 2
news | 08/01/07 | Chris Martin
It didn\'t take long for Turn 10\'s gearheaded staff to release the first of, what I assume will be, many downloadable packs for Forza Motorsport 2. In this pack they bring us four cars. The first three come from Nissan and are free for all: 2007 Sentra SE-R, 2007 Altima, 2007 350Z. The fourth car is the second place winner of this year\'s Le Mans: the Peugeot 908 race car - costing 50 gamerpoints (not bad). The Peugeot is also the first racecar (R4-1 class), as gamers will note, that can be painted.

Review of Sandio's 3D Game O' Mouse
review | 06/04/07 | Jamie Gergen
While Sandio Technologies promises to revolutionize the way your mouse and game operate together, the learning curve is steep and difficult to overcome. Instead of improving your gaming experience and making you a better player, the 3D Gaming \'O Mouse will instead become an obstacle to overcome, as often as not. While the design works well for RTS camera controls, it falls apart when you move to faster paced titles like First Person Shooters. The inclusion of analog controls on the mouse may very well be a good idea, but not in this iteration, and after some time with the new mouse we simply can\'t recommend it at the $79 price tag.

Magic the Gathering Online Gets Facial
game: Magic the Gathering Online
preview | 01/23/07 | Chris Martin
Magic the Gathering is now a classic card game. It\'s reached such long-term profundity for many an adolescent and twenty (or thirty) something since it\'s inception in 1993 that it might be the most dynamic single game of all time. It certainly has one of the most hardcore fan bases of all time. We\'ve taken a look at the new layout of Magic Online and we\'ve got impressions. Good ones. All that and a colossus, inside.

Eragon Review
game: Eragon
review | 01/15/07 | Jason Perkins
The story behind the first Eragon book, movie, and video game is an interesting one, starting with a home-schooled student that published his book at 19 years old. Now, with a movie that is being universally trashed by reviewers, the Eragon video game has come forward to redeem the franchise from embarrassment. Sadly, its repetitive gameplay and incoherent storytelling don\'t do Eragon much justice, portraying the world as nothing but an endless stream of bad guys with frustrating gameplay. The movie and book have been accused of being derivative of classics like Star Wars; the video game doesn\'t present a coherent enough story to be accused of being derivative of anything.

Brain Boost: Beta Wave and Brain Boost: Gamma Wave Reviews
game: If Only They Could All Be Brain Age
review | 01/09/07 | Laurie Taylor
The success of Brain Age has helped to launch an entire genre into the public mindset. While video games will probably always revolve around high action and high intensity, games designed to make you smarter have established a slower, more serious side of gaming. Yet even games that are designed to make you smarter have to be fun, and Majesco\'s Brain Boost series for the Nintendo DS simply doesn\'t make the cut. We take a look at Brain Boost: Beta Wave and Brain Boost: Gamma Wave to see if there\'s a winning combination of entertaining puzzles and something to improve the mind; we\'re not entirely convinced we found either.
