Fans of racing games take note: Project Gotham Racing 4 is a dream come true--lots of exotic cars, tons of tracks, weather effects, Bulldog Mode, and a rock-solid career mode to boot. Oh yeah, and motorcycles. PGR4 might be working a gamer niche that is already supersaturated by the likes of Forza, PGR3, and Burnout. But it still manages, despite it\'s competition, to be a furiously enjoyable racer with more variety than it perhaps knows what to do with.

Another attempt by yet another state of the union to pass an unconstitutional bill prohibiting the sale of \'violent\' videogames to minors has been squashed.
The bill, which would have imposed a $1000 dollar fine on any retailer if they sold a violent video game to minors, has before now seen preliminary injunction in late 2005, otherwise it would have gone into effect January 1, 2006. Since then the bill was pending investigation...

Blending a memorable storyline and iconic characters (you play as Dracula\'s son, Alucard, fer crissakes!), RPG elements, and a long (read: MASSIVE) game, SOTN is going to be a huge release for Xbox Live Arcade.

The National Summit on Video Games, Youth and Public Policy was generally a successful and unbiased attempt to create a unified statement about the effects of violent video games. The participants were generally informed and open-minded, and the organizers promised to do their best to accurately represent what those present had to say. Unfortunately, the first press release from the summit, released by the National Institute on Media and the Family, drops the ball. It puts words in the mouth of those that participated, calling video games \"devastating\", and suggesting that was a unified perspective at the event. It wasn\'t. As if you didn\'t have enough reason to love this game. Here are 17 brand new hi-res screens of the Xbox 360 version of F.E.A.R. You\'ll see some nice particle effects, lighting effects, and others. Early builds showed that the game didn\'t have wall parts chunking out after being shot, but these screens show otherwise. Check \'em out!

Microsoft has announced who will direct the upcoming Halo feature film, and it\'s a 26-year-old untested short film maker. Neill Blomkamp, tapped to direct the movie based on Microsoft\'s tremendously successful video game, has never directed a full length feature film, and has most of his industry experience as a 3D animator and visual effects expert. GameVideos.com has managed to find three of the short films he\'s directed. If you\'re curious about the direction the Summer, 2008 Halo-release might be taking, take a look at some of the works Blomkamp has done in the past.

Lionhead Studios addressed the lack of special effects in last year\'s The Movies by releasing an expansion pack, The Movies: Stunts and Effects. Installing the new expansion changes very little in the simulation until you\'ve played through the 1960s, but opens up a wide range of options for the machinima community. Budding directors can now control a freely movable camera and place stuntmen into precariously dangerous situations. Stunts and Effects is aimed at gamers who are already invested in The Movies and want to make it better; for everyone else it\'s just a worthy addition that adds yet another group of needy staffers for the player to manage. Blending RPG and RTS elements, SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars puts you in command of an army tasked with defending the known world from utter evil. OK, so the innovation doesn\'t exactly carry through to the narrative plot. Regardless, if you love RPGs and you love real-time strategy, then you will likely love SpellForce 2\'s hybrid. From masses of ground forces to aerial assaulting mythological creatures, SpellForce 2 manages to add a little bit of everything without spoiling the soup. Check out Blaine\'s review here.

Super Columbine Massacre RPG! is, needless to say, kicking up a bit of controversy. Released a year ago by indy filmmaker Danny Ledonne, the game has recently grabbed attention thanks to some high-profile posts on Joystiq, Kotaku, and the likes. Curious to find out what Super Columbine Massacre is all about (as if we didn\'t already know), Shawn downloaded and played through the five hours or so of game. Was it crazy awesome? Namco has been steadily rolling out the latest games for the \"mobile arcade\" of the future. At E3, the Pac-Man Arcade was in full effect: Besides a sequel to everybody\'s favorite game, Pac-Man, there are tons of new games to download that include both retro and cutting edge content. As the mobile gaming space continues to open up, Namco has managed to make strides in every direction, from games to ring tones and branding gaming as a \"theme\" for your fave hipster handset.
