Karaoke Country Revolution Review: Mamas Don't Let Your Gamers Grow Up to be Cowboys
game: CMT Presents Karaoke Country Revolution
review | 04/29/06 | Laurie Taylor
Gun isn\'t the only game out there that challenges you to cowboy up and show your stuff: CMT Presents Karaoke Country Revolution brings a bit of twang to the K-Rev formula. Featuring an armload of country hits (and not-so-hits), there\'s plenty of party-friendly play here, and the integration of the Eyetoy camera adds an eerie level of \"Wow, I\'m on CMT\" vibe to the experience. Scoot them boots over to Laurie\'s review for the complete rundown.

The First Da Vinci Code Screenshots Released
game: The Da Vinci Code
news | 02/09/06 | Aaron Stanton
The Da Vinci Code was and is one of the best mystery books ever published. By combining historical references with symbolic knowledge and a bit of reasoned speculation, The Da Vinci Code paints an engrossing image of traditional Western theology. In many ways, it\'s the ultimate mystery. Now, 2K Games has released the first screenshots of the video game based on the movie, which of course, is based on the book. How well the story will translate into either movie or game is yet to be seen, but some of us here at GF have high hopes; The Da Vinci Code\'s depth makes it perfect for an art medium that can combine pictures, interactive discovery, and an experience longer than 3 hours.

Gun Review
game: Gun
review | 11/26/05 | Shawn Rider
Neversoft\'s latest offering diverges greatly from their history with the Tony Hawk franchise. Gun is a wild western that puts you in the role of Colton White as he hunts for the man who murdered his father. This is a gritty action game with plenty of awesome shootouts and gorey mutilations, and it\'s definitely something that anyone who loves Unforgiven or Deadwood ought to check out. But can Gun win over gamers to become the baddest disc your box has ever slotted? Shawn takes it for a ride and lets you know in his commplete review.

Xbox 360 Screens of GUN
game: GUN
news | 10/06/05 | Shawn Rider
I don\'t even like westerns, but I love Deadwood. The grimy, gritty Old West environment, teetering between nature and civilization, lends itself to some gripping drama and high adventure. Plus, there\'s plenty of cursing. So I get very interested when I hear that Neversoft, one of my fave game developers, has also been watching Deadwood, and has created an entire game based in the Wild West, with the goal of expanding the open-play scenerio beyond cops and robbers. GUN will come out this Fall for Xbox, PS2 and Xbox 360. We\'ve got some XB360 screen here and a bit more about the game.

GF! Weekly Wrap-Up
podcast | 09/10/05 | Val Townsend
This week\'s Weekly Wrap-Up Podcast is a bit late. Why? Well, our beloved Val Townsend, the Atomic Goddess, decided to commandeer a semi-truck, fill it up with generous donations of food, water, and essential items from the fine people of Western New York, and drove it down to Jackson, Mississippi, all on behalf of her radio station, 103.3 WEDG. To top it off, after three days of marathon truck-driving, Val still managed to pull off the Podcast before Midnight tonight. All we can do is look dumb and nod our heads in agreement over how much Val totally freaking ROCKS.

Samurai Western
game: Samurai Western
review | 08/21/05 | Chris Martin
The third iteration of the Way of the Samurai series is Samurai Western, a stylish, hack-n-slash romp through ghost towns and saloons. It has the action, but can the Wasabi Western satisfy like a fine chop-socky chili?
