E3 has fundamentally ceased to exist. You\'ve probably heard. Last year, E3 was attended by over 70,000 people. Next year, the ESA estimates attendance will fall somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000, making it smaller PAX. The L.A. Convention Center is a thing of the past, given up in favor of hotels throughout the L.A. area. What does it mean to have the industry\'s largest event disappear with no warning at all, nearly overnight? Half the industry is breathing a sigh of relief, and the other half has already opened a questing eye looking for the next event to take its place. The opportunity for random discovery has diminished, but the chance to get actual, useful information out of the event has increased immensely. We can only wonder at the consequences. GamesFirst and E3 were started at nearly the same time, within a year of each other, and it\'s like seeing a brother get married or something. They\'re still there, but you don\'t get to hang out with them as much anymore.
podcast | 09/10/05 | Val Townsend
This week\'s Weekly Wrap-Up Podcast is a bit late. Why? Well, our beloved Val Townsend, the Atomic Goddess, decided to commandeer a semi-truck, fill it up with generous donations of food, water, and essential items from the fine people of Western New York, and drove it down to Jackson, Mississippi, all on behalf of her radio station, 103.3 WEDG. To top it off, after three days of marathon truck-driving, Val still managed to pull off the Podcast before Midnight tonight. All we can do is look dumb and nod our heads in agreement over how much Val totally freaking ROCKS.

Proving that custom commands are not only for ordering pizzas, Sony Online Entertainment has added a \"/donate\" command to Everquest II, and is asking its players to donate to the American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina. We at GamesFirst! applaud this effort and urge our readers to also support hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

There\'s nothing quite like the first night after you\'re home from E3. You sleep in your own bed for a the first time in what feels like a year, and you wake up clear headed and able to write coherently again. You immediately go back and fix all the mistakes in your articles that you made while writing madly on the E3 floor, and then sit down for some quality time with your computer (or significant other, depending on who you are). Wouldn\'t it be nice if you could get that boost in energy from a spray can, like Resident Evil\'s First Aid Spray? We thought so too in this week\'s twoplayer comic,
Relief After a Long Day=.
Twoplayer comic is published every Sunday at
