Will the 'Station Rumble Soon?
editorial | 09/17/07 | Chris Martin
This article came by way of Shacknews, but originated from Pro-G who reported (citing some insider info) that Sony is likely to announce at TGS a new Dual Shock (we are only on #2, at this point) in an effort to cover their bloodied SIXAXIS tracks right into your living room. The rumored \"update\" looks an attempt to curb the potty mouths of internet users and Sony bashers everywhere, and comes hot off negotiations with rumble manufacturers (and patent holders) Immersion. And it\'s about damn time, since the PlayStation pioneered rumble anyway. Now that rumble is being reconsidered in the PS3, is it enough? Will it be enough? We give our two cents.

First Blu-Ray Drives Won't Play Blu-Ray?
news | 08/13/06 | Chris Martin
It\'s been widely misreported all over the internet that the \"First Blu-Ray drives won\'t play Blu-ray.\" While it\'s true that the first Blu-Ray drives in Australia won\'t play Blu-Ray discs, it\'s mainly due to the limited Blu-Ray player software that currenly only shows up in Sony\'s VAIO. So no, it\'s not a worldwide issue, and neither is it a problem for the new Sony hardware.

feature | 05/04/06 | Shawn Rider
Last March at the O\'Reilly Emerging Tech Conference, Bruce Sterling spoke about the concept of \"blogjects\"-- objects that generate data about their use and existence across space and time. What does that have to do with games? Two programmers have taken the concept, combined it with the Xbox Live game data feed generated by Xbox 360s everywhere, and have created a service that allows your Xbox to blog. Twoplayer Comic: Forum Boys
comic | 03/24/06 | Aaron Stanton
After nearly a year, Twoplayer Comic\'s original artist is leaving GamesFirst and moving on to other projects. Noah Kroese\'s distinctive artwork and sense of humor have helped define TP comics as it exists today, and we wish him the best. Twoplayer will certainly feel his loss. Today\'s TP comic will be the last with Noah at the artistic reins, and the beginning of our search for an artist worthy of taking his place. Check out the final Twoplayer Comic by Noah Kroese, named after one of the Internet\'s most annoying aspects: Forum Boys. Best of luck, Noah.

TP Comic: FingerBang
comic | 12/27/05 | Aaron Stanton
When half your comic team disappears overseas for the holidays, it\'s hard to keep things running smoothly at a game comic. That doesn\'t explain all of TP Comics recent venture into the bizarrely inconsistent, but it explains a good portion of it. Now that the Xbox 360 is resting next to piles of used wrapping paper and a Christmas tree suffering from dehydration, it\'s easier to find the time to make fun of things. Hopefully that means we\'ll get back into a pattern again here after the new year. Take a look at this week\'s TwoPlayer comic, FingerBang, the \"banned\" ad commercial.

Twoplayer Comic: Did You Say Something?
comic | 11/15/05 | Aaron Stanton
Sometimes articles rub people the wrong way. Sometimes somebody criticises a beloved video game, or says the wrong thing in an editorial about Nintendo. Sometimes, though, they just mention the fact that they\'re a girl that happens to play games. This week\'s twoplayer comic is partially in response to the reader reaction we got from an article we published last week called, A Look Behind Alice: A Woman\'s Reason for Gaming. The character profile of a casual gamer was received with mixed results. Did You Say Something? is this week\'s twoplayer comic.

Twoplayer Comic: Modest Proposal Gone Wrong
game: PSP
comic | 10/24/05 | Aaron Stanton
Jack Thompson\'s letter offering to donate $10,000 may have been satirical, but not nearly satirical enough. A number of games designed to meet his criteria have sprung up across the Internet, evidently eager to top the lawyer\'s demand. It\'s a good thing that Jonathan Swift\'s proposal, the one which Thompson compares his own letter to, was a bit more obvious. Crazy things could have happened. Check out this week\'s twoplayer comic, A Modest Proposal Gone Wrong.

Rumors Suggest Oblivion Delayed, Not a Launch Day Title
game: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
news | 10/13/05 | Aaron Stanton
Rumors on the Internet have 2K Games announcing that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will miss the Xbox 360 launch day by two weeks, giving the much anticipated title a new release date of December 5th, 2005. How reliable this information is remains to be seen; while a number of high profile game sites have reported Oblivion\'s delay, IGN Insider is now reporting that Bethesda denies any such thing. Questions about Oblivion\'s role in the Xbox 360 launch have been floating about the Internet since it failed to make Microsoft\'s previous list of confirmed same-day launch titles. Speculation that it could be released during the system\'s launch window instead, within a month or so of the actual system, is still very much valid.

comic | 10/03/05 | Aaron Stanton
The most expensive Xbox 360 bundle now exceeds $4500, and includes everything from the system to a plasma TV. Even without the TV packed inside the box, bundles still run in the $2000 range, with pretty much every extra the Xbox 360 will launch with. Where will it stop? Every time we gamers decide that retailers have finally pushed the limit beyond anything close to reasonable, they go and prove that they can come up with something even better. twoplayer comic: Revolution Bill of Health
comic | 09/25/05 | Aaron Stanton
The problem with having a controller that looks like a remote control is that millions of people will be obligated to lose it, simply out of principle. That\'s what one does with a remote control. Now that we\'ve seen the Revolution controller (in a manner of speaking), it\'s time to get the opinion of other members of the community. Check out this week\'s Twoplayer comic, Revolution Bill of Health.
