While Sandio Technologies promises to revolutionize the way your mouse and game operate together, the learning curve is steep and difficult to overcome. Instead of improving your gaming experience and making you a better player, the 3D Gaming \'O Mouse will instead become an obstacle to overcome, as often as not. While the design works well for RTS camera controls, it falls apart when you move to faster paced titles like First Person Shooters. The inclusion of analog controls on the mouse may very well be a good idea, but not in this iteration, and after some time with the new mouse we simply can\'t recommend it at the $79 price tag.

TVG reported today that that From Software, the developer responsible for Chromehounds on the Xbox 360, but better known for the Armored Core series, has told Famitsu they have stopped production on two games for the PS3: Dark RPG and Black Blade. Whether these titles would even have been released stateside is up in the air, From Software has not given reasons for stopping production (too difficult to develop for or higher production costs are notorious forum rumors).

Sony\'s Cell Processor could be one of the key technologies that gives the PS3 the edge in the next console war, with the power and flexibility needed to give it a lead over time. Yet any radical departure from traditional processor design is certain to lead to new complications, including difficulties in manufacturing. A recent article on TGDaily suggests that the Cell Processor only has a 40% usable yield, meaning that Sony will be throwing away over half of all the PS3 processors they make. This not only means that Sony is paying money for materials they\'re not using, it also means they might have a hard time producing enough to meet demand. We take a look at the details here.

Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators receives a second review here at GamesFirst after impressing one of our editors enough to be compared to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This strategy game from the Russian developer 1C brings the open-ended nature of Oblivion into space, dumping the player into an immense universe with tons of gameplay. Working your way through the steep learning curve might be difficult, but the variety of gameplay, quality of game experience, and budget price make it well worth the battle.

Ahhh, sweet Oblivion. Few games are so appropriately titled. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is everything a gamer could ask for and more. Check out Sean\'s review of the PC version if you needed another excuse for buying this phenomenal game. If you already have it and are still gonzo for Tamriel, read it to fuel your crack-like addiction while at work or \"taking care\" of the kids.

GT Legends takes the gameplay essentials of GTR and throws them into the golden era of racing: the 1960\'s and 70\'s. With a steep learning curve and a perplexing lack of information about how to race (even in the manual), GT Legends still offers a great simulation-style gaming experience for anyone willing to push through the difficulties at the starting line. If you don\'t mind figuring out for yourself when you have to stop for a pit, or that receiving a False Start warning means you have to pit after the first lap in order to avoid disqualification, then GT Legends will be worth your time.

The time of console transition can be difficult, especially when it seems so clear that there is still life left in the current generation. Great proof of that untapped potential comes in the form of Black, out now from developer Criterion and Electronic Arts. Black arrives at the end of the current generation, but still delivers overwhelming graphics, sexy firearms, big explosions, and bigger explosions. Heading into the Spring season, rumblings are growing that Sony won\'t be able to hit their announced PS3 release date of \"Spring 2006.\" Next-Gen.biz is reporting that delays in finalizing the Blu-Ray drive could force Sony to push back the PS3\'s release. GameSpot is also reporting that potential supply problems could make it difficult for Sony to mass produce the drive. Both articles quote similar sources, both claim that Sony has acknowledged the potential for delays. It\'s our suspicion that both reports are based on the same data, subject to varying types of interpretation, but either way you read it makes you wonder about the accuracy Sony\'s original release window.

Sometimes the human elements of the industry are the hardest to report, and the most important not to miss. Mark VanDeVelde, a Vice President at Crave Entertainment and an industry veteran, passed away last Saturday, February 18th. The memorial service will be held today, and a scholarship fund has been established for Mark\'s 11-year-old daughter. While the chance is small that this news will impact the average gamer on a day-to-day level, sometimes we have to care simply because we know that someone else is fundamentally affected by such changes. It says something about Crave Entertainment that they felt it was important to share the loss, and our condolences go to Mark\'s family. We are genuinely saddened for you, and we can only imagine how difficult a time this must be. You have our best.

While Legion Arena may have a lot to live up to in the historical strategy genre (like Rome: Total War), the war title from publisher Strategy First and developer Slitherin Soft. does a fairly good job of being its own game. Not as deep as Rome: Total War, but not as frustrating or as difficult, either. If you\'re looking for something to take you back in time but not drive you insane at the same time, Legion Arena offers a fun experience without the punishment for losing. Legion Arena operates on the concept that, sometimes, too deep a strategy title just isn\'t fun.

The PSP hacking scene is difficult to keep a handle on, even as a web-based magazine, where we can publish articles regularly covering the latest development. In the past month several new tools and utilities have come out that any PSP enthusiast has already read about on any one of a number of good PSP hacking, mod and homebrew websites. So when GF! received two new books about hacking the PSP, we were skeptical that they could possibly be as good as a quality website, but hoped they could at least be more detailed, better organized, and feature more helpful illustrations for some of the basics of PSP hacking. We first looked at Dave Prochnow\'s PSP Hacks, Mods and Expansions. Boasting on the book\'s cover includes both a \"Money Saving Coupons\" emblem and a laundry list of tips that begins with \"The Top 10 UMD Movies\" and \"Which Are the Top 10 Games Worth Buying?\" We embarked with a happy outlook: Heck, we didn\'t even realize there were 10 games worth buying on the PSP... Last week, we here at GamesFirst published a side-by-side comparison of King Kong on the Xbox and Xbox 360. By looking at nearly identical games, it\'s interesting to see the graphical differences between the two. However, the Xbox 360\'s major differences are in the ability to render dynamic lighting and environmental effects, which are difficult to see in static screenshots. As a result, we\'ve redone the article using side-by-side video capture from each system. The differences are both more obvious, in the cases when a difference is visible, and more underwhelming, when certain key scenes are difficult to distinguish between the two. Sony recently confirmed to Playstation Magazine that they will utilize a non-centralized system for online multiplayer on the PS3, sticking with their departure from Microsoft\'s Xbox Live or Nintendo\'s Wi-Fi Connection services. Sticking with an online gaming strategy similar to how the PS2 currently handles online gaming means that game publishers have much greater flexibility with their online content. It also means that gamers will need different accounts for each game they play online, and also makes it more difficult for developers to insure an even playing ground in online multiplayer.

Trauma Center: Under the Knife is one of the most unique games available on a system that\'s known for offering some rather unique experiences. The medical puzzle game is challenging and addictive, and uses the DS stylus to make cutting someone open fun instead of just icky. It\'s mindblowingly difficult, which gives us that much more respect for medical professionals. It\'s also kind of weird: Why is the best move the \"cool\" move? Is it just us, or is it weird to prefer \"cool\" over \"good\" medical procedures? Oh well, we have a botox party to get to. Enjoy the review!

A member of the Xbox 360 development team has told BBC that Microsoft\'s next generation game system will be difficult to hack. We can only speculate about what that means. It also brings to mind a few other interesting attempts by companies in the past to prevent hacking, such as Nintendo\'s brilliant move to make the GameCube so unpopular that no one would care. We here at GamesFirst have figured out a fool proof hacking system, though, that works pretty much every time.
