Attempting to capitalize on the void left by the \'90s classic Jagged Alliance, Brigade E5: New Jagged Union brings mercenary strategy back to the PC. Sadly, with a poor graphics engine, buggy gameplay, and portions of the dialog that someone forgot to translate from the original Russian during the English conversion of the game, Brigade is a train wreck. The mulitplayer isn\'t functional and the game will sometimes miss event triggers after you beat a mission. Solid it concept, sluggish in execution, you\'ll want to avoid Jagged Union until patches make it playable.

While Legion Arena may have a lot to live up to in the historical strategy genre (like Rome: Total War), the war title from publisher Strategy First and developer Slitherin Soft. does a fairly good job of being its own game. Not as deep as Rome: Total War, but not as frustrating or as difficult, either. If you\'re looking for something to take you back in time but not drive you insane at the same time, Legion Arena offers a fun experience without the punishment for losing. Legion Arena operates on the concept that, sometimes, too deep a strategy title just isn\'t fun.

Microsoft and Nissan have teamed up to create a concept car called the URGE that comes stock with an Xbox 360 and Project Gotham 3 pre-loaded. (Have no fear, the game is only playable when the car is parked.) The vehicle is made to turn \"echo boomers\" on to the hipness that is Nissan, and the URGE was unveiled at the recent North American International Auto Show in Detroit last week. In the battle of Xbox 360 launch titles, two contenders went head-to-head on the hardwood: NBA Live 06 and NBA 2K6. Chris Martin already reported on NBA Live\'s disappointing performance, but left us dangling on NBA 2K6\'s courtside prowess. So how does the 2K Sports title fare against behemoth EA\'s basketball baby? Rather well. In a genre crowded with other titles based on similar concepts, how can a World War II FPS distinguish itself? In Brothers in Arms' case, you simply craft an experience with such detail and attention to the atmosphere of war that the player can't help but feel the bullets zipping by their head. Put aside all those other games that try to offer authentic WWII fighting experience; no one does the job quite as well as Gearbox Software's Brothers in Arms: The Road to Hill 30. There are stereotypes in the gaming industry. There's the concept of the nerdy guy that never goes outside, that never plays sports, that weighs too much, and has a pale, colorless complexion. But most of the time, these stereotypes are inaccurate. For starters, you could take the above example and, at least nearly every other time, read it girl? where the guy? is now. And the rest of it? That's just right out. Battling stereotypes is one of the obstacles our industry has to overcome. Are columns like GameSpy's new GirlSpy a way to do that? Aaron doesn't think so. Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 has all the goodies that the franchise is know forand it has them in quantity. What with the vastly expanded list of opponents, new cars, and even two new cities, Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 delivers a lot of action for its $20 price tag. The downside? It hasn't grown much in concept and problems in earlier titles have stuck around for this one too. Jeremy gives us the full scoop right here.
