At $9.95 a month, you can't do much better than GameTap for finding both classic games (Street Fighter II, Pac Man, Rainbow Six, et cetera) and new releases (Sam & Max Episode 1: Culture shock). And now Cyan Worlds' famous Myst franchise rears it's puzzling head.
Myst Online: Uru Live, that once-cancelled, oft promised online component to Uru: Ages Beyond Myst is on it's feet again, and this time there are no crazy publishers attached. And it's coming to GameTap this December.
It seems like every game is going massively multiplayer these days. But with Myst Online: Uru Live the switch is logical and natural. Being stuck in an Age of Myst doesn't have to be so solitary, other gamers can help solve puzzles alongside you.
These screens show off some of the locales in Myst Online: Uru Live, mainly meeting areas for the players to consult each other and discuss the mysteries surrounding the Ages. Here, players are unravelling the secrets of Eder Kemo, one of the many Ages players will be able to explore.
The graphics are pretty sharp. Lighting and textures bring the environments to life. But it has always been the puzzles, not the graphics, that bring the games of Myst to life. Myst Online: Uru Live is aiming to keep that trend strong while adding the innovation of multiple players that, years ago, Cyan Worlds tried to implement in their game Uru: Ages Beyond Myst.
Enjoy the screens!
