Bizarre Creations\' Studio Updates has offered another interesting screenshot from Project Gotham Racing 3. The image shows the Xbox 360 running Project Gotham Racing 3 with a spectator crowd of 35,000 people at one time. Each spectator is individually created, making them far more than the simple cardboard cutouts that traditionally appear in this generation\'s racing titles. Apparently the system handled the task without slowing down in the slightest. The screen is from a technology test performed by one of the PGR3 team just to see how much the Xbox 360 could handle. Not bad. Of course, you won\'t be finding 35,000 spectators per track in the actual game, but it\'s nice to see what the system is capable of.

Cyberlore Studios has announced their departure from the mainstream gaming world. After creating the classic Majesty franchise, Cyberlore made several great MechWarrior games and, most recently, the Playboy: The Mansion sim. However, today Cyberlore has announced that they will hang up their gaming hat and begin making \"serious games\" for business and training applications. Whee... While some of us can\'t wait to get our hands on the official release of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, others can\'t wait to get their hands on the map and quest maker. The PC version of the title will ship with a level editor that allows fans of the series to create their own stories and levels independent of the original storyline, just as Elder Scrolls III did. Bethesda and 2K Games have released screenshots of the upcoming editor, and the shots should be of interest to gamers with a creative streak and a desire to make worlds instead of just play in them.

It looks like Team Xbox figured out the meaning of OrigenXbox360.com. By zooming in on the tree branch near the hole, they revealed a latin phrase, and with the help of a clever reader, they have formed a pretty strong argument that the OrigenXbox360.com site is advertising the September 27 announcement of HALO 3, which has been long-rumored to coincide with the release of the PlayStation 3. Oh, and there\'s another bunny and some more apples on the tree.

This week\'s Weekly Wrap-Up Podcast is a bit late. Why? Well, our beloved Val Townsend, the Atomic Goddess, decided to commandeer a semi-truck, fill it up with generous donations of food, water, and essential items from the fine people of Western New York, and drove it down to Jackson, Mississippi, all on behalf of her radio station, 103.3 WEDG. To top it off, after three days of marathon truck-driving, Val still managed to pull off the Podcast before Midnight tonight. All we can do is look dumb and nod our heads in agreement over how much Val totally freaking ROCKS.

Bizarre Creations has released a panoramic 3-D screenshot of Project Gotham Racing 3 for the Xbox 360. The flash-based screenshot allows you to fly around a McLaren F1 LM to see the car from all sides, and experience a number of the graphical features Bizarre Creations is so excited about, like the blurring effect that simulates the physics of an actual camera. Note the way the light reflects off the windshield, and produces an aurora when in just the right angle from the front-left of the car. The amount of detail that has gone into this game is amazing. Check it out.

Last week\'s launch of the Sony PSP enjoyed unparalleled success, selling more units in the first week than any other system in the history of the United Kingdom. Roughly 185,000 PSPs sold in the days following the system\'s release, compared to the 87,000 Nintendo DS units that moved from shelves during the launch of Nintendo\'s handheld. The Nintendo DS, sold since March, still claims a greater total combined systems sold, and it remains to be seen how Sony\'s numbers hold up against the onslaught of highly anticipated Nintendo games expected this Holiday season. Nintendogs, for example, expects an October 7th release.

Game Daily is reporting that a November 25 release date for Xbox 360 is being rumored by some retail outlets. And it looks like EB Games and GameStop have unveiled thir price packages for Xbox Live.
