Nintendo Starts a Revolution

Nintendo showed off the Revolution to a crowd of hungry fans and attendant media on Tuesday, and today we got to see a bit more of the device on the show floor at E3. There\'s nothing better than waking up at 6 in the morning after a night out at a Midway party. Our GF crew is in the process of getting ready for the media breakfast served at the start of each E3. Today\'s E3 twoplayer comic, Too Ugly for E3, refers to the fact that I was the only person on the GamesFirst crew that didn\'t receive my media badge in time for the trip down. While it all worked out, I felt hurt and rejected. Why was I turned away? Twoplayer provided my answer.

E3 is here! At least, for me it is. The west coast GF! crew boards a plane during tomorrow\'s wee-early morning hours for our flight down to L.A. That means that today\'s twoplayer comic - Best Source for Next-Gen Rumors - also marks the beginning of our weeklong E3 series of twoplayer. We\'ll have one new TP comic going up a day for the rest of the week. Course, they\'ll show up along with the rest of this year\'s E3 coverage. Microsoft Acquires Rare, Ltd.

Signed, sealed, and delivered, Microsoft has confirmed today that they have purchased mega-hit software developers, Rare, Ltd. Rare will create titles exclusive to the Xbox, including a sequel to Perfect Dark, which we are all very happy about. The first Rare title to hit the Xbox will be Kameo, due Spring 2003. Blizzard Announces StarCraft: Ghost for Console Systems

The Tokyo Game Show started yesterday, and already there have been some major bombs dropped. Topping the list today is the announcement, complete with screenshots, of Blizzard\'s latest foray into the console market, StarCraft: Ghost. Today is the day. They are calling it "the biggest day in entertainment history." Why? The release of Sega's Dreamcast and Final Fantasy VIII. These momentous events, coupled with MTV's Video Music Awards, whose viewers will be barraged with Dreamcast advertisements, make it a pretty good day. With perhaps the largest cult following of any current series, Final Fantasy VIII is already blowing the minds of faithful denizens. The success of the latest FF installment was never in doubt.
