Bam! Entertainment and I-Imagine bring us the first title developed in the Microsoft Incubator program, and the first console game made in Africa. game: BMX XXX
news | 10/17/02 | Shawn Rider
Acclaim has responded to the recent controversy surrounding the release of BMX XXX, their latest extreme sports game targeted to a mature audience. The company makes some good points about unfairly characterizing videogames as exclusively kids\' stuff. Also noteworthy in their statement is the lack of any mention of toning down the PS2 version, as was previously rumored. Click here.
game: Prisoner of War
review | 10/16/02 | Aaron Stanton
Codemasters brings us a really innovative WWII-themed title. Prisoner of War puts you in the role of a downed American fighter pilot, and it ain\'t all Hogan\'s Heroes. You\'ll sneak around, infiltrate, steal and escape, but you won\'t fire a shot from a weapon. Plus, you\'ll learn derogatory terms for Germans you never knew existed. Click.

Bam! Entertainment, headed up by former Sega leader Bernie Stolar, claims the honor of being the first publisher to release a title developed through the Microsoft Incubator Program. Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver is the title, and it looks much better than that other stunt driving game that came out. Plus, it\'s developed by the only African dev house making games for the Xbox. That\'s a bit of trivia if we ever heard it. Click here.

game: Crime Patrol 2: Drug Wars
review | 09/16/02 | Shawn Rider
Digital Leisure continues to resurrect long gone laser disc titles for us to play on our DVD player or DVD ready PS2 and Xbox. Crime Patrol 2: Drug Wars is a campy on-rails shooter that takes you back to some Miami Vice, Reagan-era drug policy. It\'s worth a laugh at least. Click here.

Microsoft brings us a console version (meaning an original game developed for Xbox) of their award-winning franchise, Mechwarrior. MechAssault brings console gameplay to the series, and that\'s a very good thing. Supporting Xbox LIVE, it\'s only a matter of time before we\'re all piloting big robots. Click here.
editorial | 09/05/02 | Shawn Rider
In a horribly misguided stab at limiting gambling in public places, the Greek Government has created a ban on all videogames. That\'s right: Playing games on your PC, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Game Boy Advance (especially in public) is illegal in Greece. The first couple of internet cafe owners have been arrested already for allowing gaming in their public establishments, and things have gotten more rotten than 4:00 AM at a LAN bash over there. Click here for our coverage.

game: Tetris Worlds
review | 08/30/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
THQ brings Tetris Worlds to the Gamecube and Xbox, and what can we say? It\'s pretty much just like Tetris Worlds for PlayStation 2, and the game itself is basically a collection of all the previous Tetris titles. Click here for the Gamecube version. Click here for the Xbox version.

game: Moto GP
review | 07/20/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
THQ and their developer, Climax, have done a bang-up job on their latest motorcycle racing sim. Benefitting from some RPG elements and a huge array of bikes and riders to choose from, Moto GP looks to become the Gran Turismo of motorcycle racing. It\'s a lot of fun, and really, really pretty to look at. Click here.
game: Test Drive
review | 07/18/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Va, va, vroom, Test Drive is a pretty package. Lots of multiplayer modes and tons of cars to drive give it some quality bang for your buck. Take some spins around the track, admire the tight controls, and get your fender ripped off by a two foot tall fern. It\'s got issues. Get the whole story -- click here.
