Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes Review
game: Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes
review | 11/04/05 | Jeremy Kauffman
The second in Phantagram\'s action RTS series for the Xbox, Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes delivers on strategy and button-mashing action, but comes up short in story. Jeremy took KUF: Heroes out for a walk, and decides that in spite of the many faults, Heroes might just be worth a look for the online play, which provides RTS battle mayhem for up to six players via Xbox Live.

game: Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie
news | 11/03/05 | Shawn Rider
One of the titles we\'re most excited about this Fall is Peter Jackson\'s King Kong, the game based on the movie. The combination of Peter Jackson\'s visual storytelling and Michel Ancel, Ubisoft\'s resident super game designer, is a potentially dynamic duo that has so far demonstrated an incredible game in the making. Now, Ubisoft sends word that they will host public preview events for the game in New York City and Los Angeles, the week before the game hits stores for pretty much every platform on the planet. The preview events will be major affairs, featuring a full mock-up of Skull Island and 11 kiosks where gamers can experience King Kong, the game, in full big-screen, HD glory on Xbox 360. Get the dates here.

Jack Carver\'s back and he\'s got an itch to hunt. With some additions here and there, and a mostly retooled single player campaign, Far Cry: Instincts is an ambitious project. And now, Ubisoft\'s and Crytek\'s PC port arrives on Xbox in a most surprising way. What makes it so surprising? King of Fighters 02/03 Review
game: King Of Fighters 2002/2003
review | 10/27/05 | Matt James
King of Figthers 2002/2003 is another doublepack from SNK highlighting quality ports of their classic franchise. This time around the fighting games get a new online versus mode, but that\'s not nearly enough to make this one appealing to anyone not already a King of Fighters fan. The series is feeling dated to the uninitiated, and for most folks, King of Fighters 2002/2003 is a pass (unless you\'re planning a fun-filled evening of gaming with your dad).

Project Offset Preview
game: Project Offset
preview | 10/26/05 | Shawn Rider
Every once in awhile an indy game comes along that really makes you sit up and take notice. After seeing titles like Alan Wake or Darwinia developed by independent groups without the immediate support of a publisher, we\'re not surprised to see Project Offset, an epic fantasy first-person shooter in development by four individuals who want to play a really cool game (which is the best motivation for making a game). We\'re not surprised, but we\'re definitely impressed.

Blitzkrieg 2 Review
game: Blitzkrieg 2
review | 10/25/05 | Blaine Krumpe
CDV\'s Blitzkrieg 2 is a hardcore grognard\'s dream: RTS gameplay simulations of famous WWII battles. Playing as either an American, Russian or German commander, you make the decisions about where and how to deploy your land, air or sea ordinance. The 3D graphics engine makes for some pretty explosions, and the rag doll physics makes the battle truly brutal. Visceral and complex, Blitzkrieg 2 is a must-play for any WWII buffs or RTS fans.

Stubbs the Zombie Review
game: Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse
review | 10/24/05 | Shawn Rider
Aspyr is not one of the biggest publishers, but with some solid games under their belt (Lego Star Wars was a groundbreaking title), they\'ve put out some great experiences. The highly anticipated Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse is an incredible effort. Built on the Halo engine, Stubbs the Zombie features some rock-solid gameplay that is good, wholesome, gory fun for zombie fans. Help Stubbs assemble his shuffling army of the undead and take over the small hamlet of Punchbowl, PA. Check out our full review here.

GTR: FIA Racing Review
game: GTR: FIA Racing
review | 10/23/05 | Chris Martin
Hardcore racing sim fans take note: GTR: FIA Racing is an out-of-left-field contender for the racing sim hall of fame. Built on real data from the FIA racing circuit, GTR: FIA Racing features tense simulations with some of the best opponent driver AI we\'ve ever seen in any racing title. It doesn\'t have the catalog of vehicles or the over-the-top graphics beauty of a Gran Turismo or Project Gotham, but this one has plenty of get up and go.

Happy Tree Friends: Winter Break Review
game: Happy Tree Friends: Winter Break
review | 10/19/05 | George Holomshek
When I was in high school, all the cool girls had this saying: \"That\'s so cute I just want to throw it against a wall.\" You could modify what you wanted to do to the cute thing: eat it, squish it, set it on fire. The idea was that cuteness inspires violent feelings, and it made us giggle with glee. Such is the premise of Happy Tree Friends: Cute and violent. Really violent. Like, Jack Thompson going to town in GTA violent--it kind of gets creepy sometimes. Check out George\'s review here.

WWE Day of Reckoning Review
game: WWE Day of Reckoning 2
review | 10/16/05 | Chris Martin
We got Chris Martin\'s skinny butt in the ring with WWE Day of Reckoning 2 for the GameCube, and, oddly enough, he came out with a weird afterglow that made him forget about all the bruises and mat burns. Day of Reckoning 2 is pretty much a \"bigger, better, more\" improvement over its predecessor, and veteran in-the-ring game developer, Yuke\'s Media Creations, really brings it with a game good enough to make non-wrestling fans want to play it. Check out the review here.

Evil Dead: Regeneration Review
game: Evil Dead: Regeneration
review | 10/15/05 | Jeremy Kauffman
Deadites rejoice! THQ is once again providing the campy horror antics that only Bruce Campbell and CO. can provide. At under $20, there is more than enough to satisfy Evil Dead fans, although non-fans might be left wondering what the big deal is. Check out the review of Evil Dead: Regeneration, and Jeremy\'s triumphant return to GF!, right here.
