Peter Chung\'s animated series, Aeon Flux, is a classic of 1990s animation. The bizarre, dystopian world mixed with over-the-top action and surreal storylines to create the perfect late-night television fare. Now a major motion picture, Aeon Flux has also made her way to your local videogame console. Developed by Terminal Reality, the team behind the Bloodrayne series, Aeon Flux is marked by dizzying highs and head-scratching lows, much like the animated series. Hockey has been through some hard times, but we\'re finally enjoying a year back on the ice. Also returning to the arena is 2K Sports\' franchise installment, NHL 2K6. NHL 2K6 makes its way onto the Xbox 360 with a graphical polish and some additions to gameplay. Is this the must own hockey game for the next generation? Hillary Clinton and Joseph Lieberman have announced plans to introduce legislation called the Family Entertainment Protection Act (FEPA). The short story about the bill is that it would legislate the practices which are voluntary for retailers to follow under current ESRB guidelines, making it illegal to sell Mature rated games to minors, creating a formal avenue for consumer complaints, and initiating an annual review and \"secret-shopper\" survey of retailer compliance. The Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA) is not happy with the planned FEPA, and they have issued a statement against the bill today.

The Revolution is shaping up to be a phenomenal console, what with built-in emulation for every previous Nintendo console, downloadable retro games, online gaming, and a unique controller that has spawned huge debates about the future of gaming. Kotaku has gotten the early word on Nintendo\'s E3 Press Conference, which will be held May 9, 2006. The letter from Nintendo refers to \"our next home console, code-named Revolution,\" which has us wondering if we won\'t hear about the long-rumored console name-change. In addition, Kotaku points us to an article on Revolution Report about a patent application that defines an interface not unlike the Xbox Dashboard. Click on over and get the advanced word. While Shattered Union offers a great setting (near-future American Civil War) along with your basic old school turn-based wargaming, it doesn\'t do nearly enough with the setting, and the turn-based tactical game is unfortunately overshadowed by a god-awful campaign mode. As well received as Perfect Dark and Call of Duty 2 have been, it\'s possible that King Kong might be the best first person shooter available on the Xbox 360, if you\'re into the fantastic. With a launch line-up that includes at least 7 titles that you\'ll wanna play, the 360 isn\'t lacking for quality games, but King Kong manages to combine artistic direction and solid gameplay into a single-player experience that you simply won\'t find elsewhere.

\'Tis the season, and we\'ve got to admit that it has been a season full of hardship, which has created plenty of opportunities to put our best feet forward. Gamers have rallied to help raise money for recent natural disasters, but we always need to keep in mind that we still need to provide consistent support for charitable activites that don\'t necessarily get nightly news coverage. One such good cause is the Child\'s Play Foundation, created by Gabe and Tycho from Penny Arcade. Child\'s Play helps provide needed entertaining diversions for children\'s hospitals, and we\'re glad that Laurie took some time out to write about this very worthy cause. There are a few major racing games out for the Xbox 360, but Matt James is stoked to be playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted. It\'s not the simulation experience that Project Gotham offers, which, for some gamers, is a very good thing. Take your driving skillz to the pavement against outlaw racers, avoiding cops and whipping through dynamic environments that include weather and time effects. The Xbox 360 brings a lot to the table: Fancy new graphics. Fancy new games. Fancy new controller. But we already had pretty nice graphics. And we\'ve always had fun games. Controllers come and go, plus we can usually find third-party controllers that will work, too. So what\'s next-gen about the Xbox 360? It\'s the meta-gaming experience. It\'s not that the 360 really changes the game (although it does that, too). What\'s really cool about the 360 is that it changes how we PLAY the game. And that\'s an exciting thing.

Mario Kart is the OG Kart racer: It is the standard by which all other kart racing games have been judged, and that looks unlikely to change. Mario Kart DS brings the game to Nintendo\'s newest handheld platform, and adds online multiplayer for the first time ever. Joanna Dark finally makes her return on the Xbox 360 in the long awaited prequel, Perfect Dark Zero. Joanna is younger, hipper and has a few new tricks up her sleeve, but she also has a serious sophomore hill to climb: Perfect Dark was one of the genre-defining console FPS games on the N64 and gained a dedicated following. And in the new generation, comparisons to Halo are inevitable. Can PDZ manage to satisfy both the old school N64 fans and those expecting a next-generation marvel? Read and see.

Amped 3 is known for bringing the more realistic approach to snowboarding, but previous installments have suffered from a severe lack of personality. This time out, developer Indie Built has gone out of their way (and possibly minds!) to bring a much more appealing Amped to the table. Amped is still the best realistic snowboarding sim you\'ll find, and the robust story mode and enhanced control system help it stay on top this time out. But can it break out of the snowboarding game ghetto to capture the mainstream audience? Check the review to find out.
